Enhanced Vehicle Inspection with AI-Powered Process
Twinner is an automotive startup leveraging advanced imaging and AI technology to assess vehicle conditions and create detailed virtual presentations.
The car inspection process integrates AI with human expertise, using advanced technology to uncover damages often invisible to the naked eye. While AI detects potential issues, not all are critical, and the system still requires refinement. An inspector provides the final assessment, reviewing and confirming any damage identified.
The iPad app, featuring augmented reality (AR), lets inspectors point the camera at the car to highlight damage points, allowing them to review the vehicle while verifying identified issues.
This project focuses on redesigning the outdated interface and introducing new features.
My approach: I conducted field observations to understand how inspectors interact with the current app and interviewed users to gather clear feedback on existing issues. After consolidating insights, I developed a proposed design and created an interactive prototype for inspectors to test and evaluate, iterating toward an optimal solution.
Challenges
The most challenging part of the process was creating the prototype, as it involved AR interactions. In addition to Figma, I used Protopie to build the prototype and employed the Wizard of Oz method to test it effectively.
Impact
The old UI had several usability issues, all resolved in the new version. The redesigned UI significantly improves accessibility, while the new features optimize the main process.
